Turner to keep bringing in young players

Graham Turner has told the Western Daily Press that he will continue the policy of recruiting young players released by higher-graded clubs.

"Maybe we can't compete financially, but we can certainly compete from a professional point of view regarding an improvement in players" said Turner.

"I say to players that money is always important but at certain stages of their career it's not the most important thing.

"They've got to start to get up the ladder again and there is no place better to do it than here at Hereford.

"It's a good selling point when you try to sign young players and you have competition from other clubs".

Meanwhile John Trewick has been quoted by the paper about the up-coming season.

"At the start of last season we were looking for the really tough games - now they are all tough" said Trewick.

"The teams we will be playing against will be better than last season, but we will be improved as well."

Finally Graham Turner has told the Hereford Times that he is looking forward to Saturday.

"After being out of the league for so long, it is a bit of a step into the unknown and there are some good clubs in there."

Turner thinks MK Dons may be a side to watch.

"They have spent money and have an astute and enthusiastic manager in Martin Allen."
