Boston Move For Vaughan jnr

Boston have made a loan move for Stephen Vaughan jnr, Chester Captain and son of the Chairman.

The player has been subject to repeated barracking from a section of Chester fans as the season failed to start as expected and reacted to taunts at one match in a heavy verbal exchange at the end of a match. He has been an ever-present this season, and was handed the Captains role despite his tender years and inexperience leading to many fans accusing his father of influencing team matters.

Boston have just 14 fit players for Tuesday's match with Barnet with boss Steve Evans telling their official site: "I will have no option but to name just 14 players on the teamsheet at Barnet and that's how desperate things are, given that our treatment room is bursting at the seams with injured players. If the loan deal goes ahead and Stephen Vaughan does well, we will certainly be looking to make it a permanent move, because other than a midfield slot, he is also good in a number of other positions."

Meanwhile, Halifax fans are beathing a little easier after the town's Rugby League club raised enough money to continue into 2007, with former Chairman Howard Posner covering the outstanding £35,000 needed. Posner told the local press: "We can move forward ? provided we also get support for the stadium from the local authority.". The Shay stadium has resembled a building site for several years after a string of disputes with the local council.
