Ex Bulls fail to gain win for Forest Green

Guy Ipoua started and played for the first hour in Rovers 2-3 defeat against Woking at The New Lawn on Friday night. A typical piece of Ipoua magic on the bye-line resulted in a cross that fooled the Woking defence into conceding an own goal after they had taken a two goal lead. Jamie Pitman joined the game on the half hour and gave his usual gutsy performance while Danny Williams' late appearance proved to be without any great influence.

Woking took an early 2-0 lead before the Ipoua inspired own goal. His departure marked the move of Alex Meechan to a central role with former Grecian Les Afful filling in on the right. The change soon produced a Meechan equaliser for Rovers but an eightieth minute strike gave Woking the points. Rovers played an adventurous style of football, even leaving three up when defending corners! If they are to improve their results they need to do a bit of work on their defensive organisation - all three Woking goals came as a result of errors.

After the game Ipoua, who appears to have lost some weight, said "I need a few games yet as I did not have a proper pre-season".

Meanwhile another ex Bull, Adam Stansfield, was relegated to the bench for Exeter's 3-1 win at Cambridge. After the game, Cambridge manager Rob Newman was sacked by the Cambridge board making him the second Conference boss to lose his job this season.
