Turner unhappy with Transfer rules

Graham Turner has told the Hereford Times that, in his opinion, some of the transfer rules are 'ridiculous'.

"I can see the need for a transfer deadline coming towards the end of the season but nothing will convince me that there are any merits for the rule (otherwise)."

The Hereford United manager said that last Thursday he felt he might have signed three players before the transfer deadline.

"All three clubs were in agreement but the players themselves decided not to join us.

"It was not a question of finance; it was not a question of a lack of enthusiasm on our or the other clubs' part to get it sorted out and I wonder whether, in other cases, there is the influence of an agent."

From today clubs can sign player on loan until the transfer period reopens on January 1st.

"These are all totally unnecessary complications to the game, all thanks to FIFA."
