Just days after being forced to release three players to adhere to the League's wage capping rules, Chester boss Mark Wright is eyeing up a new striker.
Veteran Dutch forward Clyde Wijnhard is training at the Deva Stadium with a view to signing a deal. The 32 year old left Macclesfield in the summer after scoring 12 times in 26 games for them. It is expected that someone else will have to be released in order to free up the wages necessary for the former Leeds striker.
Meanwhile, Darlington chairman George Houghton has confirmed that David Hodgson will remain as manager after he intervened in the row between Hodgson and Chief Executive Jon Sotnick which has brewed since Sotnick's arrival from Boston.
