Accy aim to keep eleven on pitch tomorrow

The Accrington Observer is reporting comments from Ian Craney, the Accrington midfielder that they hope tomorrow's game doesn't result in any red cards for his team. In their last four games at Edgar Street, Steve Halford, Mike Flynn and Danny Ventre have all been given red cards.

"We were talking about that the other day," said Craney. "And it does always seem to be one of those games that has controversy but hopefully tomorrow will be a straightforward Accrington win!

"There is a lot of rivalry between the teams, especially because of the game last season, but the players just tend to get on with it."

Defender Robbie Williams remembers the last game against Hereford.

"It was one of those games that ended badly but there are no real bad memories from last season," he said. "They are all good memories because we won the league. But we do know we have to make sure we end the game with 11 players and a victory there for once would be very nice."

Stanley will be without Leam Richardson who is suspended and there is a doubt about captain Peter Cavanagh who is recovering from a calf injury.

As regards Hereford United, there are slight doubts about several players who have missed the last game or two. According to BBC Sport defenders Martyn Giles (head), Simon Travis (hamstring) and Trent McClenahan (knee) all face fitness tests.

But with a larger squad at Edgar Street than for many years, manager Graham Turner has plenty of options.

New loan signing Neil Mackenzie is expected to feature in midfield with Hereford's other loan signing John Eustace.
