Bluebirds push young players

Cardiff City are pushing their young players with the view to having more academy trained players in their first team squad.

Some of those players will be at Edgar Street for the friendly with Hereford United tomorrow.

"The key words for us are production line. Dave Jones (the Cardiff manager) wants to see players developing with us," youth Academy manager Lee Robinson told the Western Mail.

"Many of our players who would qualify for the under-18 team are playing regular reserve team football."

Lloyd Evans, James Simpson, Mica Chunuonsee and Mark Jones are among those playing for the reserves at Hereford United tomorrow.

"Our philosophy is to push young players through the system," said Robinson.
