Darlington have released an official club statement accusing former manager David Hodgson of breaking Football League rules over payments to agents.
The statement claims that five allegations were investigated by the club and two were proven, relating to Football League Rule 43 about payments to agents. The club states that it has already made contact with the FA and Football League over the allegations.
The club add that the allegations centre on a time after the current owners took over but before Chief Executive Jon Sotnick was appointed from Boston. The club have also suspended Director of Football Dave Jones.
Hodgson has already stated that he will defend his name, and the matter is likely to end up in the courts.
