Eustace signing should boost gate this afternoon

A new signing at any club usually means a few extra supporters through the gate for the next home game.

But the move from Stoke City to Hereford United yesterday of John Eustace, if only on-loan for a month, isn't just any player coming to Edgar Street.

Super John Eustace (SJP) appears to be a firm favourite at Stoke and comments both from the staff and supporters of that club see the move as potentially being of real benefit to both clubs.

The midfielder is on his way back to form from a lengthy spell out of the game and although he has played for Stoke reserves he is said to need several higher level games. Assuming he stays fit, he will have that chance with the Bulls as it is acknowledged by the club that a midfielder with League experience is badly needed to boost the team.

Eustace is expected to play at least some part in this afternoon's game against Darlington. How manager Hereford United Graham Turner will fit the central midfielder into his side remains to be seen.

During the next month Hereford have games against Shrewsbury in the Paint Trophy and League games against Milton Keynes, Accrington and Swindon plus the first round of the FA Cup on November 11th. Assuming Eustace is allowed to play in the Paint and FA Cup games, he could feature upto six times in his month on-loan.

As ever there will be reports from Edgar Street on BBC Hereford and Worcester this afternoon but no commentary.

Finally, the club office will be open today for fans to purchase free child tickets for the Paint game with Shrewsbury next Tuesday. 400 free tickets are available on a free come first served basis.
