Grimsby Town Football club has reacted to concerns that the Sky coverage of their game against Hereford United on Sunday might keep the attendance somewhat lower by promoting ticket sales to children.
Some 35,000 vouchers, sponsored by the GTFC Study Support Centre, have been sent to schools in the Lincolnshire region. These vouchers allow free entry to children when an adult pays just £10.
The idea is 'to get a big, noisy crowd' in for the Hereford game.
The voucher must be presented at Grimsby's ticket office before kick-off on Sunday to receive the special discount.
Hereford United have announced a similar scheme for the Johnstones Paint Trophy game against Shrewsbury on October 17th. Shrewsbury supporters can also obtain free tickets for children for this game subject to conditions.
Meanwhile Grimsby have announced another addition to their squad with Andy Butler from Scunthrope starting a a month long loan spell today.
