Looking forward to Saturday's Cup game at Shrewsbury, Graham Turner has spoken to both the Hereford Times and the Shropshire Star.
Turner once played for Shrewsbury and became their player/manager from 1978 to 1984.
"I had some good times at Shrewsbury but it will be even better if we can go there on Saturday and win," Turner told the Hereford Times.
And, according to the Shropshire Star, the Hereford United manager has insisted there will be no room for sentiment and nostalgia on Saturday. His aim is to get Hereford's name into the second round draw which takes place on Sunday afternoon.
"Both Hereford and Shrewsbury have got a great tradition in the competition and I just hope Saturday is the last FA Cup game staged at Gay Meadow," he said.
