More rain at Shrewsbury this evening

Shrewsbury Town Football Club said this afternoon that no inspection is planned at the Gay Meadow in advance of tomorrow's game with Hereford United 'as things stand at the moment'

However since that news was posted moderate rain has been falling around Shrewsbury. This rain looks as though it will be through that area by late this evening.

Staff will be at the Gay Meadow early tomorrow morning so should be able to access how conditions are before most Hereford United supporters leave for the game.

Assuming the game goes ahead, the pitch is bound to be very heavy. Whether that will benefie one side more than the other remains to be seen.

Meanwhile the independent Hereford United forum is carrying posts saying that some supporters have not yet received their tickets for this game. It's unclear whether they have been posted late or simply delayed in the Christmas post.

One supporter who says he has spoken to Shrewsbury Town suggests that fans will be able to pay on the gate if their tickets have not arrived. Anyone is this position may consider bringing a receipt with them which should suffice as proof of purchase.

Meanwhile it is understood Hereford United have travelled towards Shrewsbury this evening for an over-night stay.
