News Round Up

Paul Fairclough has been retained as the manager of the England National Game XI. The Barnet manager was fiercely opposed to by Conference bosses who felt an independent manager was fairer, but the FA has rehired Fairclough after his contract expired in December.

Macclesfield have signed striker Robbie Doyle until the end of the season. The former Blackburn trainee returned to his native Ireland after being released in 2005, playing for a string of clubs. The club have allowed full back Andy Smart to join Northwich on a months loan. Wrexham have rejected an undisclosed bid from Peterboro for Chris Llewellyn.

Lincoln have cancelled the contract of striker Danny Bacon by mutual consent. The player is due to sign for Hendesford on non-contract terms to keep himself available for transfer at a later date. Rochdale have signed Plymouth striker Reuben Reid on a months loan. The 18 year old recently spent a month at Kidderminster, scoring twice in six games, and featured in the FA Cup for Plymouth against Peterboro last week.

Wycombe have signed Darlington forward Simon Johnson for a nominal fee. The ex-Leeds youngster slipped out of the first team when Dave Penney arrived as manager and is the sixth player to leave Darlo in the window.
