Graham Turner, the Hereford United manager, was disappointed with yesterday's result and was quoted in the League Paper.
"You're not going to win matches with defending like that, it was suicidal. The first goal was almost a joke goal.
"It's unfortunate for us that we've come up against a side that, right at the moment, is in good form and are experts at keeping clean sheets.
"With opponents like that, what you can't afford to do is give them a start, which is exactly what we did."
His counterpart, Stockport's Jim Gannon, was delighted.
"I'm really pleased. It was quite difficult because the pitch was a bit lively out there and it wasn't the football spectacle I was expecting."
