Nasty injury to Green

Ryan Green spent Saturday night in hospital following a nasty injury received in Bristol Rovers' away game at Grimsby.

The former Hereford United defender had surgery to a deep laceration in his foot.

"It went right down to the bone and was very deep and very jagged - the only good news was that it didn't look like anything was broken and he still had feeling in his foot," said Rovers physio Phil Kite.

"The surgeon needed to get in there and clean the wound out first, but there are obviously worries that if there is damage to the ligaments, tendons or nerves, Ryan could be out for quite a while."
