Caters Respond To Date Problems

Edgar Street catering firm Lindley Catering has responded to the club's open letter about out of date food being sold at Edgar Street.

The Hereford Times approached the caterers for a response after the club posted the letter, from Joan Fennessey, and printed the following response:

"We are aware that a delivery company brought out-of-date pies to the ground but not one was sold and all were thrown away. There was one incident when a customer was sold an out-of-date packet of crisps which was returned. The fan was offered compensation in the form of a chocolate bar which was accepted.

"We apologise that the situation has arisen. We can assure all Hereford United fans that this is something that we take extremely seriously and our procedures will be tightened."

Fans have been long critical of the catering at Edgar Street since Lindley Catering took over, with complaints over low stock, poor quality food, and bad service regular features on the message boards, while Council health and safety officers had to intervene to dispose of out of date pies earlier in the season.
