Clubs Up For Sale

More League Two clubs are up for sale and, in one case, for the second time this season.

Joining Boston and Mansfield in the shop window are Swindon, who have received a written offer from a consortium led by former director Bill Power. Power, who withdrew his day-to-day involvement in the club after an aircrash in August, is looking to reclaim the cash-strapped club after previously being chairman at QPR.

Meanwhile, Torquay are back on the market and could be sold - again - before the end of the season. Chairman Mike Bateson, who retains a 51% shareholding despite selling 34% to former leader Chris Roberts, has two interested parties in his remaining stake. One in a local based consortium believed to include two former directors, while the other is an un-connected party.

Bateson announced the interest as he chaired the latest AGM. The accounts, originally signed off last October, predicted a reasonable season with a chance of promotion - but also showed a small profit. The current season is expected to show a heavy loss.
