Woking have sacked manager Glenn Cockerill and assistant Matt Crossley with immediate effect. The former Southampton midfielder spent four and a half years at the helm, but the club have struggled this season and are only five points clear of the relegation spots.

The Football League have announced that crowds for the Football League Trophy are up 41% this season. New initiatives to stop teams fielding understrength sides and offering cheap admission has seen crowds go up, on average, by 900 per game. 55,000 are expected for the final this Sunday, 13,000 up on last season's final.

Swindon fans are being offered discounted travel for their trip to Edgar Street next weekend. The club will subsidise travel by up to £3 per person as they look to get back into the automatic promotion spots. Caretaker boss Martin Kuhl wants the job permanently at Aldershot. The former Coventry player may face competition from Graham Westley, who has thrown his hat into the ring.

Halifax fans have been told that they must raise £40,000 to see a takeover of the club completed. A group of businessmen want to come in to the stricken club, but cannot afford both the £30,000 to cover the wage bill for March and a £50,000 CVA payment. Bristol Rovers have appointed Ron Craig to take over from the long serving Geoff Dunford, who will remain a director.

Cambridge United shareholders have voted in favour of scrapping ownership limitations to allow major shareholder Paul Barry to invest £600,000 into the club. With today's loan deadline for sides outside the Football League, a few moves have been finalised. Lincoln have loaned midfielder Jamie Sherlock to Hinckley after the player failed to make the grade following a summer move from Gainsborough.
