Boston failed to make any loan signings because of the wage cap rules, according to their Chairman. Jim Rodwell told the local press: "It wasn't a case of us not having enough money. We were prevented from bringing players in because of salary management. Believe me, we explored every possible way around the situation with the Football League, but there was nothing we could do about it."

Chester will not stand in Boston's way if they want to recall Brad Maylett. Manager Steve Evans want the player back to ease their player worries, but is concerned the club cannot afford his wages despite Rodwell's assurances that money is available.

Notts County are to sign midfielder Ciaran Toner from Grimsby in the summer. The former Spurs trainee has scored eight times from 26 appearances so far this season but will leave when his contract expires.
