In what can only be seen as a desperation measure, Accrington are to allow free admission for next Saturday's crunch relegation match with Torquay.
The club has seen multiple sub-1500 gates as they have struggled to adapt to life in the Football League, and have been forced to offload their prize assets. Recently, several League Two clubs have offered £5 admission and given season ticket holders free entry but this is the first time in recent memory that a game is to be totally free.
The club are not expected to repeat the deal for further matches this season.
