No contracts agreed yet says Turner

In his post match comments after yesterday's game, Hereford United manager Graham Turner told the assembled group of hacks that no contracts with players had yet been agreed.

"There's a massive amount of work even on the players that are out of contract that we want to keep here.

"it's been going on for several months now.

"I'm not quite sure what players are waiting for. There have been offers, there have been improved offers and, so far, nobody has been prepared to commit themselves. But that work will continue."

It was suggested that agents might be involved.

"Yes, without doubt, yes."

Turner also said he had plenty of players in mind for next season.

"At this stage most of them are expecting Manchester United or Chelsea to sign them. So once they have got over that disappointment then they look down the leagues. May be we have a chance then."

Meanwhile Gary Peters told the press that he was releived the game was over and that Shrewsbury had another three points.

"It was the longest second half I'd ever known in my life!"
