Boston's ten point deduction for entering Administration will be imposed in the current season.
Football League chiefs issued a statement confirming the deduction: "The Football League can confirm that Boston United have been deducted ten points from their points tally for 2006/07. This 'Sporting Sanction' takes effect from April 25th, the date on which the club effectively obtained the approval of creditors for a Company Voluntary Arrangement."
The FL will, however, seek changes to the rules during their June AGM after seeing both Boston and Leeds use 'loopholes' to effectively escape punishment.
