Students wishing to purchase season tickets at Hereford United are being asked to produce an up-to-date ID card as evidence.
However since ID cards tend to be issued at the beginning of the academic year, usually late September, students may need to take other evidence to Edgar Street if they wish to purchase a concessionary ticket.
Yesterday the club said:
Following enquiries about the price of Season Tickets for students, the club are pleased to confirm that students will be offered tickets at Concession prices.
Students will be offered season tickets for the 2007/2008 season at the following concession prices, but valid ID (NUS Card) must be for the coming year.
It looks as though the club haven't thought through this potential problem and may need to clarify the details or run the risk of students deciding not to purchase tickets.
UPDATE: Wednesday evening: Hereford United have responded to comments about student season tickets with a revised statement:
Please Note: Students applying for a concessionary season tickets must be able to provide evidence of them becoming, or carrying on being, a student for the next academic year 2007/08. i.e. Letter of acceptance to College or University or similar.
