Fry Wary Of Wage Cap

Peterboro Director of Football Barry Fry has spoken openly about the club's comings and goings.

Fry, who was a regular trader on the transfer market during his managerial days, has admitted interest in six of the eight transfer listed players from fellow League Two and Conference sides and is mindful of the wage cap rules that may prevent the club bringing more players in before some of those eight are offloaded.

Chester were forced to offload a string of players last August to avert the threat of a breach of the wage cap, with some of those discarded only signed earlier in the summer.

Peterboro are believed to be close to agreeing deals for out of contract Bristol Rovers defender Steve Foster and Shrewsbury midfielder Dave Edwards, but neither will agree to sign until after Saturday's play-off final at Wembley.

The Posh have already seen 12 new faces arrive since the start of the year, with the Peterboro Evening Telegraph reporting that three Premiership players were offered deals yesterday.
