Gas Power Into League One

Bristol Rovers beat Shrewsbury Town 3-1 in today's League Two play-off final at Wembley.

Shrewsbury, already without three of the side that won the play-off semi-finals, lost full back Luke Jones in the warm-up but took the lead after just three minutes through a Stuart Drummond header.

Rovers came back through a Richard Walker brace before half time, and finished the game off in second half injury time through Sammy Igoe who picked the ball up on the edge of his own box, ran on, and side-footed the ball home from 40 yards with Shrews' keeper Chris MacKenzie in the wrong box after going upfield for a late corner shortly after Marc Tierney was sent off for two bookings.

The 61,589 attendance is a League Two play-off record with Rovers, who finished 12 points behind MK Dons in the league table, taking nearly 40,000.
