Released List Announced

The Bulls have officially announced their retained list, with five players not being offered contracts for next season.

Glyn Thompson, Martin Giles, Danny Thomas, Stuart Fleetwood, and Andy Ferrell are all named on the list, though all the names were known to fans for several days.

Thompson struggled with injury that prevented his debut for the Bulls for several months and leaving him unable to make an impression on Bulls fans while Giles is a surprise release after a good first half to the season but, as with other players that struggle with long injuries, Graham Turner has obviously sided with caution yet again.

Danny Thomas was expected to be offered a deal after being a regular for the last three months of the season, but has been released after negotiations apparently broke down. Fleetwood had a good 12 months in a Bulls shirt but failed to make any sort of impression during 2007 and, after a poor spell on loan at Accrington, barely even made the bench in the remaining Bulls games despite the obvious lack of goals.

Ferrell's departure on loan to Kidderminster effectively signalled the end of his Bulls career, but his chance to shine at Kiddy was cut short through injury. The combative midfielder's performances won as many admirers as critics during his 65 appearances with the club.

The five join Jon Wallis, Alex Jeannin, and Gareth Sheldon in departing the Bulls. There are now just six of the players from last summer's play-off final remaining at the club, with only one under contract.
