Brentford made offer for Fleetwood

Hereford United's former striker, Stuart Fleetwood, was made an offer by Brentford it has been revealed.

Fleetwood signed for Forest Green earlier this week.

"Brentford came in right at the death with an offer for Stuart but fortunately he'd made his mind up to join us," said manager Jimmy Harvey.

"I'm absolutely thrilled we've got him and he seemed very impressed with what (assistant boss) Jamie Pitman and myself had to say about the club.

"I don't think there will be many teams in the league with a better strikeforce than Fleetwood, Danny Carey-Bertram and Adriano Rigoglioso, plus we'll have Les Afful, Lee Dodgson and Paul Stonehouse as options up front."

Meanwhile Forest Green are developing their youth section. They aim to run teams for every age group from under-8's through to under-16's, as well as running two sides at under-18's level.
