Conference new boys Farsley Celtic are proposing a name change to include the Leeds name. The borough of Leeds, six miles from the city centre, has proposed the options of FC Leeds and Leeds Celtic. Leeds United themselves are still awaiting answers on whether they can continue following their recent problems, with their Football League 'share' yet to be allocated.

Barnet have agreed £125,000 compensation with Charlton for midfielder Dean Sinclair. It brings the total cash banked from sales by the Bees to £500,000 in little more than a month in addition to the £200,000 received for Tresor Kandol last season. Lincoln have ended their interest in Darlington's Julian Joachim after refusing to pay a fee for the 32 year old.

Former Stockport manager Danny Bergara has died after suffering a series of strokes. The Uruguayan had six successful years at the club, and had recently been scouting for Sunderland. Mansfield have confirmed that triallist Matt Piper has decided to retire after failing to secure full fitness following a string of knee injuries.

Kidderminster have signed striker Matthew Barnes-Homer on a one year deal after a successful trial. Barnes-Homer had a trial for the Bulls in late 2004 following his release by Wolves. Shrewsbury boss Gary Peters has ordered the groundstaff to make their new pitch as big as Wembleys' surface, with Peters saying: "It is a pitch for good wingers and hopefully that will be a good ploy for us."
