Radford's goal centre-piece of ESG masterplan

Ronnie Radford's famous goal is the centre-piece of the ESG masterplan model for the redevelopment of the northern part of Hereford city centre. Although it was scored in the famous FA Cup defeat of Newcastle United in 1972, some 35 years ago, the goal will always be regarded as extra-special.

Recently the project engineer from ESG thought that the goal was well-worth featuring in the masterplan model. He contacted Bulls News and we arranged to send the details and a copy of the video featuring the goal to the model-makers for the project who are based in Cardiff.

They 'lifted' the details including John Motson's commentary of Radford's goal and incorporated it into the model. Anyone visiting the forthcoming exhibition, which can be found at Penn House opposite the Green Dragon in Broad Street, can press a button and relive the action.

The exhibition is part of the ESG's public consultation process and opens next Tuesday at 9am and continues until 5pm on Saturday July 28th. The public will be able to make their views about the proposals known to ESG staff.
