Brady not telling the whole truth?

The rules of The Carling Cup clearly allow the Home Club to discount the cost of admission to their season ticket holders if they so wish. However, any such discount would have to be excluded in the calculation of the Gross Receipts for the match. This enables the Home Club to give a benefit to their season ticket holders without financial penalty to the Visiting Club. In simple terms, if the admission price is set at £10 and Birmingham choose to admit their season ticket holders for £5 then they can do so long as they account for those numbers at the full £10 price. This would mean, of course, that the full cost of the price reduction would fall on Birmingham City rather than the revenue shortfall being shared with Hereford United. It would appear, given the way in which they have dealt with the issue, that Birmingham are only prepared to discount the admission price to their season ticket holders if Hereford agree to share the cost of such a reduction. It is therefore perfectly clear that Ms Brady's claim that Hereford has prevented her reducing prices to their season ticket holders is totally false. A far more likely scenario is that she is only prepared to help their supporters if Hereford United helps to pay for it.

Extract from The Rules.
22.6: - Where the home club issues Season tickets which allow holders of such tickets free or discounted admission to a match in the Competition then the home club shall include within the Gross Receipts of the match an amount equivalent to the value of such season tickets, divided by the number of matches which the holder is entitled to attend without admission charge or at a reduced admission charge. Where the Home Club issues season tickets which allow holders of such tickets discounted admission to a match in the Competition then in calculating the amount to be included as Gross Receipts of the match any discounted admission price shall be excluded.
