Forest Green joint top of Conference

Former Bull Stuart Fleetwood netted late in the second half to seal a 2-0 away victory for Forest Green at York City this evening. An earlier strike from Darren Jones had handed the Gloucestershire outfit the lead before Fleetwood scored. The impressive result for Jim Harvey's men puts them joint top of the Blue Squad Conference Premier alongside Cambridge, Stevenage and Aldershot. Other former Bulls that played were Danny Carey-Bertram, who partnered Fleetwood, and Mark Robinson, who started at left back for York. Their place at the top is likely to be short-lived though as Exeter, Torquay and Salisbury can move above them with victories tommorow.

Elsewhere, Kidderminster were defeated by pre-season favourites Stevenage Borough 2-0 at Aggborough. Andy Ferrell was an un-used subsistute for Kiddie, but Brian Smikle start. Aldershot were 2-1 victors at newly-promoted Histon, with John Grant leading the line for The Shots.
