The official match programme at Edgar Street, Bullseye, has had a make-over. Yesterday's issue, the first of volume 30, had a new format and looked more attractive to the eye.
As well as the 'Manager's Notes', we could read John's (Trewick) Journal and Skipper's (Karl Broadhurst) View, Wayne's (Jones) Wounded and a Football League Review.
There was the usual interview with a player, Steve Guinan interviewed by Laurie Teague, and a new feature called Let's Get Personal with. This week Karl Broadhurst answered 15 questions. And as ever we could read about the opponents team.
A different slant on football history was included where Leigh Edwards profiled ten leading managers from the opponents.
However there has to be a question why some information such as Bull's On The Road is given so much space when that information can be found on various websites.
And whilst the club has to promote itself, it has to be hoped that there isn't too much repetition of, for example, the list of Match, Ball and Mascot Sponsorships, the Back the Bulls Lottery and the Club Shop. Perhaps these items could be rotated and other items promoting the club in different ways published.
More original content from Hereford United, not yet available elsewhere, would improve the programme and probably the sales.
Finally it's noticable that Bulmers, where many Hereford United supporters work, have cut the size of their advertisement in the programme from a whole page to just a quarter.
