We expect to make a six-figure sum says Turner

Graham Turner, the Hereford United manager, has told the Hereford Times about the financial prospects of the FA Cup game against Leeds United.

"We expect to make a six-figure sum. There has been lots of interest and BBC Radio Five Live will be taking commentary on at least part of the game," said Turner.

Turner is hoping the Watford Two will be allowed to play in the game.

"They would be devasted if they were not allowed to play."

Turner said that Edgar Street is buzzing with all the preparations for the Leeds game.

"It does, however, make for a terrific amount of work for the administrative staff with all the requirements that the TV cameras bring and so they have been all been spending a good deal of time going through the logistics of staging a match as big as this."

Mindful that there are two League games before the Cup game Turner noted:

"It is most important that the players keep there feet on the ground. We have two important games - at home to Darlington on Saturday and then with Mansfield on Tuesday evening - with six points at stake.

"The message to the players is to get those league games out of the way first and then they can think about enjoying themselves against Leeds."

Turner also revealed that he had tried to sign youngster Robbie Threlfall, who has come to Edgar Street on a one month loan from Liverpool, last summer.

"But he was chosen to go on Liverpool's tour to Hong Kong where he played for 30 minutes against South China."
