Time for players to show their bottle - Turner

In his weekly column in the Hereford Times, Bulls' manager Graham Turner discusses last Monday's defeat at Chesterfield and how he hopes they can make amends against Cardiff City on Sunday.

"To stand there and watch us perform like that filled me with anger, embarrassment and total bewilderment," he wrote.

Considering the excellent away form over the season, he noted that the performance on Monday had been produced by the same players.

"We have so many willing players and a good attitude that it is no good beating them to death after Monday.

"I do not believe it should have been a physical thing but it could have been mental because we have played some big games recently.

"We will analyse what we have done in training. With the heavy surface up at Belmont, have we done too much? Or have we done too little and given the players too much time off?

"In all my years in management, it was one of those occasions when, when approaching half-time, it was almost totally baffling what to do."

Turner, who admitted to being impressed with Cardiff when he watched them last Sunday, is hoping that the players can bounce back in the Cup Game.

"Now is the time for the players to make amends for that abject hour and a half at Saltergate."
