Neil Grayson scored the opener that saw his Stafford side pick up their second win in a week to beat Forest Green 2-1. Adam Stansfield scored his seventh of the season as Exeter beat Grays 2-0. Mark Beesley scored his first for Cambridge as they beat Halifax 2-1.
Alan Connell scored Brentford's third, and his ninth, as they demolished Accrington. Rob Purdie started but was taken off at half time for tactical reasons after central defender Alan White was red carded for a punch. Lionel Ainsworth was relegated to an unused sub again as Watford drew with Charlton.
