Ben Smith told BBC Hereford and Worcester that the windy conditions meant the Bulls had to try and pass the ball at the New Meadow this afternoon.
"It was a bit of a hard fought game. The pace was probably a lot quicker than the games we've had of late.
"Even after going a goal down I felt confident we could win the game.
"It was really windy. It's a lovely stadium but because of the corners it leaves it quite open to gusting wind. We knew that we had to pass it really because if we didn't and played it long it would probably would have been playing into their hands. More up their street than ours."
Smith talked about new loan signing Stephen Glesson who started in mid-field alongside him.
"I think he grew into the game as it went on."
As regards Shrewsbury Smith thought they were destined for mid-table obscurity.
