The Bulls entertain Dagenham and Redbridge as a League side for the first time.
The pair met twelve times in Conference action over six successive seasons until the Bulls won promotion to the Football League. The Daggers followed suit 12 months later to set up the first League match. At Edgar Street the Bulls have won only two of the six encounters, losing and drawing two as well and scoring only five times. Away from Edgar Street they managed five goals in 18 minutes during that 9-0 win.
Only Wayne Brown, Dean Beckwith, and unused sub Sam Gwynne remain from the last Bulls side that faced Dagenham, but eight Daggers survive. That day in April 2006 each side converted a penalty to share a 1-1 draw in front of 2,561.
The Bulls will be boosted by the return to fitness of Robbie Threlfall, who enjoyed an extended run out against Ledbury, while Marcus Palmer's five goals will certainly give the manager a gentle nudge with Theo Robinson missing the game through suspension and Steve Guinan still lacking fitness. Youngster Jack MacLeod, who impressed many on the right wing on Tuesday, will also hope for a place on the bench.
The Daggers belated debut in League football has not been the kindest of times. Since their romp to the Conference title last season they have often looked ill-equipped for the step up, conceding three times or more on nine occasions this season. Their defence has tightened up sharply in recent weeks, as have their forward line. In the last five games they have conceded only four, but scored only one - earning four points from their last six games. They are currently just two points clear of the drop-zone, with the second lowest scoring record in League Two giving them the worst goal difference. Top scorer is Ben Strevens with six of their 23 League goals this term.
