News Round Up

Ben Smith will be spending the summer bribing preview writers if the effort from Scunthorpe's official site is to be believed: "other key names in the squad are near-ever present goalkeeper Wayne Brown, formerly of Chester, and young midfielder Ben Smith, plucked from Weymouth." Smith turns 30 in November, even if he looks a youthful 29.

Aldershot have resigned goalkeeper Nikki Bull after confirming his departure last week. He has signed a two year deal. Oxford have had to cancel a pre-season friendly with QPR because the ground is being used for a wedding as the stadium is not owned by the club. The management company pre-booked the date, and the bride refused to change plans.

Crewe are chasing Derby keeper Ben Hinchliffe, who has been released. The 19 year old had another 12 months left at Pride Park, but has been paid off. Peterboro mouthpiece Barry Fry is claiming goalie Joe Lewis is worth £4million. They paid £400,000 for him six months ago.
