Leicester Appoint Pearson

Leicester have named Nigel Pearson as their new boss.

Pearson, 44, kept Southampton in the Championship at the expense of the Foxes at the end of last season but was sacked after winning only three of fourteen games in charge. He has spent most of the last ten years coaching in the top two divisions after his last managerial job saw Carlisle saved from relegation on the last day due to goalkeeper Jimmy Glass's last-gasp goal.

As a player Pearson was signed by Graham Turner at Shrewsbury in 1981, playing over 500 senior games for the Shews, Sheff Weds, and Middlesboro.

In other news, Crystal Palace have announced seating arrangements for the Carling Cup match. Bulls fans will be housed in the Croydon Advertiser stand at one end of the ground, with home fans in the opposite Holmesdale lower tier and Main Stand. All other parts of the ground will be closed.

The Croydon Advertiser stand is described as being unusual as having a single tier of seating holding around 3,000, plus two rows of executive boxes above.
