Former Hereford United goalkeeper Craig Mawson is looking for a new club after being released by Halifax despite having one year left of a three year contract.
As well as 'keeping for the Shaymen, Mawson is a goalkeeping coach at the Burnley Centre of Excellence so may well try and find a club in the North that will enable him to continue working at Turf Moor.
29 year old Mawson joined the Bulls in October 2004 after Jonathan Gould's return to Preston. He left Edgar Street after the Conference play-off final.
Although Mawson had spent much of that season on the bench after Wayne Brown had joined the Bulls, Turner offered him another contract but Mawson wanted regular football.
Graham Turner later praised Mawson at a fans forum. In particular he noted his integrity in keeping the manager informed when he left Edgar Street.
Also leaving The Shay is former loanee Daryl Taylor. The former Walsall winger spent two loan spells at Edgar Street racking up 16 appearances between March 2005 and April 2006.
