Spurs may help Dons

Speculation that Tottenham Hotspur may play their home games for one season at MK Dons could help fund their expansion plans which has recently shown signs of stuttering (see story from last Sunday).

Spurs are looking to build a 60,000 seater at White Hart Lane and the work could mean that they will need to move from their base for one season. And it appears that the stadium.mk is high on the list of possible venues.

But the deal could depend on the Dons finishing their stadium first so as the capacity would be around 30,000. Anything less and Spurs will probably go elsewhere.

Meanwhile MK chairman Pete Winkleman is looking at candidates for the post of manager after Paul Ince moved to Blackburn.

“We won’t necessarily go high profile,” said Winkelman.

“Whoever we appoint must have something they can believe in and that will work.”

Scunthorpe’s Nigel Adkins, Southend’s Steve Tilson, former Leicester manager Ian Holloway, ex-Derby boss Billy Davies and Burton's Nigel Clough have been linked with the post. Another name mentioned is Jimmy Floyd Hasselbank whose future at Cardiff City is uncertain.
