Last season's contracts for Football League players end today so an increased amount of transfer activity is expected this week.
Nothing about new deals has come out of Edgar Street since June 17th when it was announced that Matty Done has joined Hereford United and both Richard Rose and Simon Johnson had signed new one year deals.
However with manager Graham Turner returning from holiday and the players, already signed, returning to training there will be increased activity around the Edgar Street ground.
First news about signings could come as early as tomorrow. Speculation continues that both Dean Beckwith and Toumani Diagouraga will agree new deals. And Turner may be preparing to pay Southend for Gary Hooper.
However the fate of Trent McClenahan remains unclear. He will know on Friday if he has been picked for the Olympics and may gamble that the resultant publicity could mean more interest in his future by Australian football managers.
