Striker Anthony Elding has left Leeds to join Crewe Alexandra for an undisclosed fee.
The 26 year old former Stevenage player had originally held talks with the Railwaymen back in June after the clubs had agreed a fee. Leeds boss Gary McAllister had told Elding that his opportunities at Leeds would be limited. The Official Crewe website is reporting that a three year contract has been completed with Elding quoted as saying "It's a place I've always wanted to come too." His earlier statement that he would stay at Stockport if Crewe and Hartlepool were his only options had obviously slipped his memory!
Meanwhile, Leeds currently have Argentinian striker Luciano Becchio and Canadian U21 hitman Marcus Haber on trial at Elland Road.
