Floors-2-(Finally)Gone

Work has begun rebranding the outside of the former Floors-2-Go stand at Edgar Street today - as the company itself is placed into Administration.

The 132 store retailer was already on rocky ground and was planning a number of store cuts, including the Hereford branch, which effectively ended their involvement in the Bulls at the end of last season although stewards at Edgar Street could still be seen sporting flourescent jackets with the flooring company logo on Tuesday night.

Floors-2-Go sponsored a string of stands across the country, and their demise is likely to be another hit to a number of already hard pressed football clubs. 41 of their stores will close immediately, with Administrations assessing the business in the short term.

For the Bulls their demise is unlikely to make much difference with Cargill stepping in to take sponsorship of the old Len Weston Stand, but the financial crisis is likely to take its toll on pitchside advertisers. Estate Agents Haart, who had four pitchside boards, pulled out of the city several weeks ago while a couple more local companies whose names featured on boards last season had gone bust prior to the summer renewals.
