Mansfield's takeover is complete bar some minor paperwork, 18 months after the club was officially put up for sale. Since then a dozen bidders and a trio of Chairmen have come and gone. A consortium of local businessmen, led by former club sponsor Andy Perry, have agreed to buy the club for an undisclosed sum and rent Field Mill from the unloved Keith Haslam for ten years. Their first act is to axe manager Paul Holland, and are expected to name former York boss Billy McEwan as the new gaffer.
Bristol Rovers have completed the signing of Daryl Duffy from Swansea for £100,000 and taken West Ham Academy striker Ben Hunt on a free transfer. Darlington have signed released Stockport striker Adam Proudlock, their third signing from the Hatters' reject bin. Huddersfield have signed Sheff Utd defender Chris Lucketti. The veteran defender joined the Blades for £300,000 only two years ago.
Walsall have signed their fourth player of the summer in taking released Swindon midfielder Sofiene Zaaboub on a one year deal. Millwall have signed Nadjim Abdou on a two year deal from Plymouth. Shrewsbury have signed Bristol Rovers striker Richard Walker on a season long loan. The deal will take the former Bulls target out of contract at the Memorial Stadium.
