Tranmere have added released Liverpool midfielder Charlie Barnett to their squad. The 19 year old Academy product has signed a one year deal after a lengthy trial. Walsall have signed former Bulls loanee Chris Palmer on a years contract. Palmer had a spell at Edgar Street while with Derby and was more recently with Wycombe.

Steve Bull's Stafford side will play Wrexham in a friendly match, after trying to book Port Vale. Bull contacted Martin Foyle thinking he was still Vale manager, according to The Sentinel paper, but found he was now a coach at the Dragons. Ex-Bull Mike Ingham is a doubt for the start of the season at York after straining a thigh in the warm up of their loss to Hartlepool.

Yeovil have released striker Andy Kirk after only signing him in January. The prolific Scot has spent the last four years in English football but appears to be returning north of the border despite still having two years left on his Huish Park contract. Stockport's move for Stephen Gleeson has been delayed while he agrees a new deal at Wolves.

Leyton Orient expect to be without loan Spurs defender Simon Dawkins after he damaged an ankle playing against his parent club. The 20 year old is expected to miss three weeks after being stretchered off during the game. A reserve Leeds side, featuring out of favour ex-Barnet man Tresor Kandol, beat Pegasus 1-0 at their Old School Lane ground last night.

Leicester have rejected a £500,000 offer from Norwich for striker Steve Howard. They paid £1.5million for the ex-Derby man in January.
