Hereford United manager, Graham Turner, will meet up with one of his former loanee players tomorrow when the Bulls play Brighton. Joe Anyinsah came to Edgar Street on loan from Bristol City in early 2005, now he is on loan with Micky Adams on the South Coast.
Anysinah has spoken to the Argus about Hereford United and Turner.
"I went there for a month, really as a fitness regime," said Anyinsah.
"They said at Bristol City I wasn’t fit enough to play in the first team.
"I had only just signed my professional contract and it did me good. It toughened me up, playing in the Conference.
"He (Turner) was very good towards me. He looked after me. We used to keep in contact, although I haven’t spoken to him for a little while."
Looking forward to the visit of the Bulls Anysinah commented:
"You don’t under-estimate anyone in this league, bottom of the table or not. Every game is hard. We just need to get that winning mentality and I am sure once we get one we will go on a bit of a run."
Turner is known to have tried to sign Anyinsah several times after his loan spell. It was hoped, at the time, that he might have returned to Edgar Street but an injury crisis at Bristol City put paid to that.
In September 2006 Turner told a fans forum that he had recently enquired about Anyinsah, then with Preston North End. And later that year the Non-League Paper suggested that Turner has 'renewed his interest in Preston's Joe Anyinsah'.
Meanwhile Anyinsah is available at 17/2 to score the first goal tomorrow.
