We want to win - Swindon manager

Swindon Town manager Maurice Malpas has said he hopes to start tomorrow's trophy tie at Hereford with the same team that drew with Hartlepool last Friday. Just like Graham Turner, Malpas wants to win the game to get some confidence into his side and the possibility of some extra cash.

"If I can get everybody standing upright tomorrow then we’ll play the same team," Malpas told the Swindon press.

"It’s a game we want to win. You get a lot of plaudits for winning cups so obviously we have to win this game if we’re to think about progressing. There’s a long way to go but I think with what’s happening at the club right now we need positive things to happen.

"We'll go up to Hereford and look to win that game, a cup tie.

“We get criticised but it’s important that we produce some positive things. The best way we can do that is go to Hereford, play our strongest team and win the game so that the supporters come on Saturday with a positive attitude and the determination to back the team all the way to the end.

"We keep on saying that performances have been poor here because of the lack of confidence but I’ve got to try and butter them up now and get their confidence right so we go up to Hereford tomorrow and get something out of that game."
