In a move that will affect many small club websites, Yahoo are being sued by the Football League and Premier League for publishing fixtures without a licence. The footballing bodies claim the fixture lists are not random and demand licence fees for their use for anything other than editorial reasons. Should Yahoo win every website would be able to publish fixtures without paying.
Bradford have already sold 4,600 season tickets for next season after offering them for as little as £99. It is double the number they had sold at the same stage last season. Northwich have had a transfer embargo placed on them by the Conference over their current financial state. Mansfield are in pole position to sign Daryl Clare after he priced himself out of a move to Kings Lynn. Clare wants to move nearer his Lincolnshire home due to his wife's illness.
Oxford are the third Conference club to be facing a points deduction over an unregistered player. Eddie Hutchinson helped the club to eleven points before his non-registration was uncovered. If the club lose all those points they would drop into the relegation zone. Mansfield have already been docked four points, while Crawley are still being investigated with players now needing to be registered at the start of each season regardless of whether they are new signings or not.
Northampton are down to 13 fit professionals for Friday's trip to Hartlepool. They hope to make loan signings this week. Sky Sports claim that the Walsall job has been applied for by Rochdale boss Keith Hill. The sunday papers say John Ward and Mark Kinsella are interested. Chester player Tony Dinning is on trial at Inverness, the club he was supposedly trying to tap players up for when he was suspended in April.
