Scunthorpe Game Postponed

Iron's home match with Hereford has been postponed following a lunchtime pitch inspection.

While the vast majority of the pitch is in fine condition, referee Graham Laws had expressed concerns about an area near the centre circle and decided to call the game off.

Some Hereford United supporters already in Scunthorpe have moved to a pub and may decide to watch another game in the area. However there are few left to choose from as most have been postponed. Eventually they decided to head for Barnsley where Southampton are the visitors.

The late decision will disappoint those who have travelled in support of the Bulls. Earlier this week a reminder was sent to clubs from the Football League to try and avoid late decisions to postpone games.

It appears that the referee might have been called in earlier. However Scunthorpe seemed confident the game would go ahead by the posts on their Official Site.

As at 1pm just three matches are set to take place in League One - they are those at Leeds, Leicester and Northampton.
